Application & Things You Will Need
When we are ready to go in 2025 we will email and phone the request for volunteers. If still interested we will at that point send you a detailed application asking specific questions.
If initially approved one note we feel obligated to tell you up front is there will be a background check and drug test before you are officially approved. Being we deal with anxiety and trauma directly please be advised this could limit your roles volunteering.
Currently we are only excepting a list of future volunteers to start in the 2025 year. We will be having a good to know list of different jobs needed as well as Job descriptions explaining what's required in the near future. Also I will be working out the paperwork to sponsor a CTRS Intern in Fall 2025. Our goal is to eventually talk with Texas State by Fall of 2025 or Spring of 2026 to have a camp for Special Needs children allowing them to experience the therapies offered and also show off our new service dog. This will also be a class elective offered by Texas State for students volunteering with Camp Fiona is what we are trying to accomplish. The details will still need to be worked out and will keep you updated on the progress. I know it can be done because we did it at University of Tennessee. Go Vols!
Application
We will be having a specific application that is required for both PTSD and Special Needs that meets the minimum age of 18 years old. We will be taking applications for this starting in 2025.
I already work in the C.L.A.S.S program through Lanai Therapies and have limited my hours to start taking individuals on certain days. If you are in the Austin area I do have 1 open availability if you are currently in the C.L.A.S.S program and your child has behavior issues. However you would have to switch providers to Lanai Therapies to take advantage of the Biofeedback service dog. In 2025 we hope to get enough sponsors and donations to allow the rest of the open availabilities to service Vets and Special Needs with behavior issues. In time I hope we are so big it allows us to expand to other types of disabilities without behavior issues. When you take away stress and anxiety in a special needs individual it actually raises their self awareness and cognitive abilities. Therefore I can't wait to get this journey started to eventually help all Vets and Special Needs. If we can't fit all of you in next year please be patient it will take some time.
